Independent Contractor Opportunity
Content & Storytelling Coordinator
4- to 8-Week Pilot Contract | Musanze, Rwanda
WonderPlay Rwanda is looking for a creative and mission-driven Content & Storytelling Coordinator to help tell the story of WonderPlay through photography, video, writing, and social media.
This is more than a social media role. We are looking for someone who can capture authentic moments, celebrate childhood, strengthen families through storytelling, and communicate the heart of the WonderPlay Way.
Responsibilities include creating content for social media, photographing events and activities, capturing short-form video, writing engaging captions, and helping maintain WonderPlay’s visual identity and brand voice.
We are looking for someone who is:
Based in or near Musanze
Fluent in Kinyarwanda or English (both preferred)
Creative, organized, and dependable
Comfortable working directly with children and families
Skilled in photography and social media content creation
Passionate about visual storytelling and community impact
This is a four- to eight-week independent contractor opportunity with flexible scheduling based on agreed deliverables. A mandatory three-day orientation is required before work begins. Immediate start date.
Contract compensation is 60,000 RWF for each four-week contract period. Based on organizational needs and successful completion of deliverables, the contract may be renewed for an additional four weeks.
A satisfactory background check is required.
University students who are legally eligible to work in Rwanda are encouraged to apply.
Local volunteers who share WonderPlay’s vision and have creative gifts in photography, storytelling, or digital media are also welcome to apply. All volunteers must complete the application process, required training, and a satisfactory background check.
Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV, a brief statement of interest, and examples of photography, design, writing, or social media work, if available.

Volunteer Opportunities
Do you believe in the power of play to strengthen children, families, and communities? WonderPlay welcomes individuals who want to contribute their time, talents, and skills to help build something meaningful.
Our volunteers join us to support a long-term vision for Rwanda, working alongside local staff and community members rather than being the focus of the experience.
Volunteers may assist with projects such as preparing materials, organizing spaces, gardening, events, photography, administrative support, community outreach, and other activities that help WonderPlay grow. Some volunteer roles may involve working alongside children and families under the guidance of WonderPlay staff.
Requirements:
- Commitment to the mission and values of WonderPlay
- Dependable, respectful, and willing to learn
- Background check required for roles involving children
- Completion of WonderPlay orientation and required policies before beginning service
- No alcohol use before or during volunteer hours
Volunteer opportunities may be short-term, project-based, or ongoing. We welcome local community members, students eligible to volunteer, professionals who wish to share their skills, and individuals who want to help build a stronger future for Rwanda’s children and families through the wonder of play.
